OUR WINES
Mud House Estate Waipara Pinot Gris 2010
The fruit for this wine was solely sourced from Mud House's Home Block Vineyard in the Waipara Valley. The small parcels were carefully hand picked and gently whole bunch pressed. The pressed juice was then clarified by cold settling, before undergoing extended cool fermentation in stainless steel. Select aromatic yeasts were used to add complexity to the resultant wine and to retain its fresh fruit characteristics. After the completion of fermentation the wine was aged on lees for a period of 2-3 months before preparation for bottling.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS
The 2010 Waipara growing season started with cool but stable weather through flowering. It was a wet and cold summer, that eventually gave way to beautifully warm and stable weather from late February onwards. The settled weather allowed us to hang the fruit on the vine for up to three weeks longer than average, without disease pressure, giving fruit of excellent condition and optimum ripness. This extended ripening period has resulted in wines of superior quality, concentration and length
