Marlborough Chardonnay

Straw.

Citrus fruit backed with appealing hazelnut and yoghurt notes.
palate
Broadly textured with a lovely oiliness that continues through to the finish, this wine displays complex flavours of stone fruit, honey and biscuity oak. A thread of mineral acidity weaves its way through the palate keeping the wine focused.
comments
The aspiration for this wine was to use Burgundian techniques to construct a full bodied white wine with richness, roundness and complexity whilst honouring the integrity of the fruit.

vintage conditions
2007 was a fantastic low cropping year that culminated in concentrated wines across all varieties. A very cold start to the season resulted in low crops and slow maturity. Then the heat of the days arrived, allowing flavours to accumulate whilst the cool evenings maintained fresh acidity and ideal flavours. Perfect conditions for harvesting.
