comments
Each parcel of fruit was carefully monitored during ripening so it could be harvested as optimum maturity. The fruit parcels were then transported with haste for immediate pressing with minimal skin contact to avoid juice deterioration. After settling, each batch was cool fermented in stainless steel. The wines were blended shortly after the completion of fermentation and then carefully balanced and prepared for bottling.
vineyard region
The fruit for this wine was carefully selected from vineyrards in upper and lower Wairau and Awatere Valleys, Marlborough.
vintage conditions
2008 started with a superb summer – perfect ripening for a bumper crop. While some patchy rain at summers end made picking a slightly soggy affair for a few sites, the geographical spread of Mud House’s vineyards gave us some stellar Sauvignon Blanc fruit. A rewarding harvest.
