Viticulture & Winemaking
OUR WINE STORY
Established in 1996, the Mud House name reflects our origin and link to the earth, where the wine begins. Our vineyards are nurtured to ensure that our grapes reach optimum ripeness, varietal character and flavour. Our winemakers then finely craft the wine to capture the essence of its origin. All Mud House wines are produced sustainably.
OUR VINEYARDS
The best vineyard soils are selected from New Zealand's premium grape growing areas according to the varietal specialisation of the region. This allows us to produce wines of typicity that are truly expressive of the place of origin.
OUR VITICULTURE TEAM
We touch the earth in our three wine growing regions of New Zealand's South Island. Our viticulturist and his team of vineyard managers nurture the grapes along their journey to becoming wines that reflect a sense of place.
OUR WINERIES
We have two wineries, one in Marlborough and one in the Waipara Valley. This allows flexibility for our winemaking team to carefully craft the wines using both traditional and new world techniques.
OUR WINEMAKERS
Nadine Worley and Cath Oates lead the Mud House winemaking team. Thier combined experience from working vintages all over the world, coupled with their finely tuned palates and attention to detail ensures Mud House wines are the finest expressions of our cool climate regions.
